Job Profile
The company is seeking a Construction Inspector (CWI) who will provide inspection services to assigned construction projects, with a focus on Structural Steel Systems.
Working in a team environment for assigned projects, one must be able to understand the technical nature of job tasks including documentation, coordination, and close-out functions as detailed in organizational processes.

Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have an Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from a college or university
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) (required)
Work Experience
- Possess 7 years of experience within various construction disciplines or trades
- Solid understanding of construction practices specifically on Structural Steel Erection and Infrastructure inspection.
- May require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-activity coordination meetings for various activities such as outages/building impacts and assist in the coordination of various project activities to ensure customer satisfaction. Track shop support activities versus funding.
- Documentation of all project activities such as conformance with government approvals of safety plans and environmental regulations. Report variances to NASA COR.
- General understanding of the project delivery process and interaction between disciplines within the project team and will work closely with the customer and their assigned representative.
- Maintain a daily log for work executed on assigned construction projects.
- Participate and provide feedback for feasibility studies, design reviews, preconstruction planning, regularly scheduled project status meetings, and punch list/closeout activities.
- Review and analyze contractor construction schedules and pay applications to ensure percent complete accuracy.
- Review for compliance installed work conforms to the contract, specifications, drawings/plans, special provisions, and code.
- Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Good communication and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs
- May require travel
- Must have the ability to communicate in English, both verbal and written in an effective manner
Other Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain required Government clearances/badges as required by program and position
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
Work Environment
- Work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards
- Occasional lifting to 20 pounds
- Constant sitting with the use of a computer terminal
- Constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents
- Constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication
- Constant mental alertness
- Must possess planning/organizing skills
- Must be able to work under deadlines
- Site walk-downs and inspections in support of construction projects
- Site hazard training and Personal Protective Equipment are provided
