Job Profile

The company is looking for a Construction Supervisor who will manage a team that works on various pipeline and storage-related construction projects.

Education Level

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assure all construction projects and associated equipment are operating properly by identifying, reporting, and resolving matters with maintenance, operations, and technical personnel.
  • Construction knowledge of pigging, processing plants, dehydration plants, field compression, separation, and tank battery facilities.
  • Construction knowledge of pipeline repair and installation of new pipelines.
  • Construction knowledge/procedures with new well connects.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate projects for budgetary cost, environmental exposure, and project progression timelines.
  • Detailed knowledge of company policies and procedures, industry practices, construction standards, welding procedures, and OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Effectively manage the bid process, selection of contractors, and the use of service providers to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with the policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate and recommend the feasibility of existing and new construction projects.
  • Good understanding of federal and state codes and regulations for the pipeline industry.
  • Manage productive and cooperative working relationships with other departments so project requirements are met.
  • Manage the daily activities, roles, and responsibilities of contract construction inspectors so projects are completed successfully, and objectives are achieved.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and handle callouts
  • Respect and effectively interact with team members and customers.
  • Responsible for construction activities being compliant with the appropriate standards, procedures, policies, and regulations.
  • Supervise team(s) of both contract and full-time to work on various pipeline and storage-related construction projects.
  • Support Plant and Field Managers with the construction portion of the group’s responsibilities.
  • Other duties as required.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical, business, and entrepreneurial skills.
  • Effective use of computers/software
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local codes and regulations.
  • Ensure regular and effective safety, regulatory, and industry practice training for the Construction Team.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Good understanding of federal and state codes and regulations for the pipeline industry. Supervise team(s) of both contract and full-time to work on various pipeline and storage-related construction projects.
  • Good written and verbal skills
  • Must be team-oriented, and self-motivated with a strong commitment to safety, operational, and environmental policies.
  • Strong understanding of the execution of construction contracts
  • Strong understanding of the facilities and equipment in a crude oil pipeline/storage environment.

Preferred Skills

  • 5 years of construction industry experience preferred
  • 5 years of natural gas plant/pipeline industry or oil/gas industry experience
  • Experience working with pressure vessels and equipment

Working Conditions

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Driving, walking, and standing frequently
  • Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions, and some heavy lifting
  • Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required
