Job Profile
The company is looking for a Controls Designer who will be responsible for working in a team environment on projects to develop a functional process for automated assembly lines.
Be required to design a process that adheres to all relevant safety regulations, develop controls schematics, PLC and HMI programming, and be able to provide direction in relation to robotic integration.
Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and network design is required as well as a thorough knowledge of the safety requirements related to automated assembly lines.
Understanding of robot integration is expected. Experience in robot programming and automated welding processes is considered an asset.
Educational Qualification
- Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus
Work Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the electrical design of welding lines
Duties/Responsibilities
- Consult the manager if you are not 100% sure of how to perform tasks in a safe manner
- Design and program welding lines from the start of a project to completion, including supervising the installation at the customer’s facility
- Ensure that the job is completed on time and functioning safely and within the quoted cycle time
- Ensure that the final design meets the customer’s standards and specifications
- Ensure that your work area is kept clean, tidy, and organized at all times to prevent accidents and produce quality products
- Follow all ISO Standard
- Follow all safety rules, standards, and procedures at all times in all areas
- Know what types of Personal Protective Equipment are required for the jobs in your area and always use them properly
- Observe standards set out by Massiv Automated Systems and its customers
- Perform assigned tasks in a safe manner and know how to properly lock out all energy sources, including stored energy
- Report all unusual circumstances and actively participate in and support Continuous Improvements
- Work on multi-line projects as part of a team
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to work as a team member and individually
- Advanced knowledge of Ethernet IP, DeviceNet, and other communication protocols
- Excellent knowledge of resistance welding, electrical standards, and the latest safety standards
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Allen Bradley/Rockwell software and communication
- Extensive knowledge of PLC and Robotic programming and control
- Good communication skills
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills
- Good understanding of programmable motion control and robot integration
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to meet deadlines with accuracy
