Job Profile
The company is recruiting a Controls Engineer who will support site maintenance in troubleshooting and correcting PLC control systems.
Education Level
- BSEE or MSEE Degree (Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Science (preferred)
Work Experience
- Mitsubishi, Siemens, Fanuc (predominantly used in-house)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of standards and procedures related to process control for software, hardware, including software back-ups of new and existing control systems and their interfaces.
- Document procedures for changes and archiving existing or new programming and coordinating between in-house and outsourced workloads to ensure existing system integrity.
- Documentation relating to control and instrumentation type projects, drawing review of electrical wiring schematics, including electrical loop drawings for projects.
- Participate in project teams and provide subject matter expertise as appropriate.
- Prepare programming examples and assist engineering in maintaining up-to-date P&ID standards.
- Provide in-house programming or programming review of outsourced programs, safety interlock review and testing requirements, and instrument loop checks.
- Provide training and prepare new programming related to PLC and HMI equipment.
- Perform other duties as required, such as troubleshooting complex issues to support maintenance personnel.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Electrical knowledge and analytical ability.
- Extensive experience and understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Must possess a high level of independent judgment, professionalism, and integrity.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs and operator interfaces. Must have proven experience in PLC logic and programming.
