The company is searching for a Controls Service Technician to join its team.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate in Science (AS) Degree
Work Experience
- A mechanical background with at least 2 years of field experience and customer interaction
- Experience in machine assembly, light fabrication, welding, and machine tool operation
- A strong electrical wiring, schematic reading, and troubleshooting experience
- Experience working with contractors on all phases of project installation and startup
Duties/Responsibilities
- Answering inquiries concerning equipment and forwarding them to the appropriate departments in JBT
- Assisting with the development of quotes
- Conducting final inspection, installation, and commissioning of new or rebuilt JBT equipment
- Creating functional OIT screens for operator interaction
- Performing service on equipment manufactured, sold, or leased by JBT
- Recognizing and taking corrective actions to unsafe work conditions or practices.
- Testing and evaluating prototypes and products
- Traveling to customer sites to perform controls start-up and troubleshooting of food processing equipment and operator training
- Using CAD, database systems, and available resources to make layouts, evaluate control systems, analyze, and generate new designs.
- Working on industrial control systems and related test equipment including PLCs, PCs, loop controllers, control valves, level probes, flow meters, RTDs, and other miscellaneous hardware
- Writing PLC programs to control various equipment
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- A basic PLC understanding
- Assist in conducting training schools on equipment
- Be able to read and understand drawings, blueprints, and mechanical assemblies
- Contribute to improvements in internal processes and standards to ensure efficient development of systems and products to meet business and customer expectations.
- Effectively interact with all functional areas of the business
- Field Service Retort controls and startup
- Lead or assist in the planning and supervision of sub-contract labor
- Maintain knowledge of JBT equipment and upgrades, administrative requirements, and company travel alerts and restrictions.
- Train new service personnel as required
- You have a valid driver’s license
