Job Profile

The company is searching for a Cradles Multicraft Tech I who will troubleshoot systems and perform preventive and predictive maintenance on various equipment while always prioritizing safety.

Provide support for production and carry out the assignments and responsibilities given to them by the cradles department maintenance supervisors and team leaders.

Responsible for supporting safety, quality, and productivity while adhering to KAMTEK’s plant standards and upholding the Magna Employee’s Charter.

Maintain, troubleshoot, and provide continuous improvement suggestions resulting in minimal downtime of manufacturing equipment in the assembly area.

Support installation and modification of equipment to ensure quality control requirements are met and process enhancements are realized.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or GED (required); 2-year degree from a Technical College or minimum of 3 years on-the-job training with a heavy industrial manufacturing facility in skilled trade capacity.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
  • Journeyman Certification preferred. General knowledge of industrial maintenance with an emphasis on electrical, mechanical, robotics, or control application

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and installation of new/improved manufacturing equipment, components, and processes
  • Assist in determining spare parts requirements
  • Effective communication with team members and other departments
  • Follow and comply with all plant safety standards including LOTO
  • Help minimize downtime by responding timely to andon or radio calls.
  • Maintain integrity of safety devices including light curtains, safety gates, barriers, etc.
  • Make modifications to existing equipment as required
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes
  • Teach and modify robots to correct pick and place issues and or to correct mig weld issues that have been identified by quality, engineering, or leadership.
  • Train operators and new team members on fixtures, control panels, etc.
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of various manufacturing equipment, including robots, PLC, controls, electrical, etc.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to read and understand schematics
  • Ability to use testing and troubleshooting equipment
  • Must be able to pay good attention to detail
  • Must be able to work extended hours as needed to meet customer requirements
  • Must have a basic knowledge of robots
  • Must have a general knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Must have a good understanding of rigging, cranes, etc.
  • Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must have general knowledge of electrical theory and troubleshooting
  • Must have general mechanical knowledge
  • Must have good mathematical and communication
