Job Profile
The company is looking for a Crush/Convey Diagnostic Mechanic I who will safely perform diagnostic maintenance, installation and repair of crush and conveying equipment and related systems.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
- 2 years of experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts (including welder, boilermaker, machinist or facility maintenance/construction) or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
- Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP exists) and have experience demonstrating the required mechanical aptitude.
Duties/Responsibilities
- May operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and boom trucks
- Perform advanced welding and fabrication
- Perform as a Fill-in Supervisor as required
- Performs mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance such as changing filters in the dust collection systems, checking screens, oil levels and lubrication systems
- Performs system troubleshooting, maintenance and component removal, repair and installation of jaw and gyratory crushers, vibratory screens, conveyors, dust suppression/collection systems, mobile conveying systems, etc.
- Prioritize and make decisions regarding equipment repair as needed
- Responsible for maintaining work orders and performing work area inspections
- Train and mentor other employees
- Perform other duties as required
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to read and use schematics and blueprints.
- Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards.
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English.
- Demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and technical skills while achieving a 35% score on a written assessment where required. This exam is based on technical skills/abilities or academic knowledge, as well as safety.
- Must be able to demonstrate proficient basic welding skills.
- Time management skills.
Work Environment
- Follows strict safety and PPE requirements
- Operates around large, moving machinery
- Stands, climbs, and lifts heavy components daily
- Works outdoors in extreme heat, cold, dust, and loud noise
- Works rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
