Job Profile

The company is hiring a Custom Welding/Metalwork Shop Foreman who will primary responsibility for the Welding Shop Foreman is to direct the activities of the welder/fabrication staff to ensure accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency within specified project work timelines relative to welding, cutting, rolling, shaping, bending, heating, or hammering metal to fabricate custom metal components.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

Work Experience

• 2+ years of documented Shop Management experience

Duties/Responsibilities

• Be a working, hands-on supervisor.
• Coordinates the setup and operation of fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses.
• Determines the appropriate welding equipment or method based on project specifications/requirements.
• Develops layout and plans sequence of operations, applying math skills, allowances for thickness, machine, welding shrinkage, and physical properties of metals.
• Ensures company assets are maintained and repaired by the standards outlined in the operational manual and predetermined maintenance schedules.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• Must be able to lead and train personnel in a custom welding shop.
• Needs to be able to perform highly specialized welding/fabrication tasks.
• Plans the sequence of operations for welders/fabricators.
• Tracks and verifies what jobs are being performed and the time frame it takes to complete. Also, it tracks and verifies other welder/fabricators’ performance.
• Performs other duties and tasks assigned by RAI Management.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to pass a drug screen and reference check
• Ability to work occasional flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements
• Valid Driver’s License

Physical Requirements

• Be able to lift a dead weight of at least 50 pounds and stand on your feet for several hours at a time.
• Be able to bend, stretch, crouch, and lift as required by the job, be able to respond quickly to sounds, move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces, see and respond to dangerous situations, safely climb ladders while carrying tools/items, work in extreme weather, and properly wear personal protective gear.
