Job Profile
The company is looking for an Industrial Engineer with experience in the facility integration of fabrication/manufacturing technologies, workplace organization, and skilled in the implementation and documentation of comprehensive safety systems.
Educational Qualification
- The applicants should have completed a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from a college or university.
Work Experience
- The candidates should have 3 plus years of experience in Industrial Engineering
- Experience in coordinating/delegating tasks among team members for multiple projects
- Experienced in 3D modeling or CAD software
- Experienced in following project plans, coordinating cross-functionally and scheduling with Sustainable Workplaces, Facility Engineering, General Contractors, and Suppliers
- Experienced in participating on multiple teams working on a variety of concurrent projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate with teams ensure successful project completion
- Experience in working with UAW or Skilled Trades resources
- Skilled at dealing with ambiguity
Duties/Responsibilities
- Collaborate with DCF Leadership, Supervision, SMEs, and UAW Staff, relative to site or technology improvements in the DCF Shops
- Coordinate machine and equipment installations with Sustainable Workplaces, General Contractors and UAW or Skilled Trades
- Demonstrate behaviors that support diversity and inclusion within the organization
- Exhibits a safety mindset while identifying, taking ownership, resolving safety concerns, and supporting the safety champions of each space in Design Center and GM Partners
- Issue technical reports and make presentations to management
- Lead G-Risk safety assessments, participate or lead G-Comply process and Safety Contract Management initiatives, document and retain all pertinent records
- Participate in estimating project costs and implementation timelines for facility/equipment improvements
- Participate in project site assessments including utility and structural recommendations, layout, engineering drawings and coordinate with Sustainable Workplaces, engineering firms, and general contractors and suppliers
- Provide technical support to Application Engineers for all projects
- Responsible for analysis, recommendations, and project management for workplace optimization
- Use computer-assisted design and drafting software to create the layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to evaluate highly complex issues, recommend and integrate solutions
- Demonstrated ability to manage an exceptionally high workload, while being very innovative and displaying outstanding initiative
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
- Proficiency in implementation of Work-Place-Organization principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills with the capability to identify solutions to unusual and complex problems
- Strong oral and written communications skills
