Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Director (Advanced Fabrication) who will be responsible for leading, directing, and inspiring the Weld Process Specialists, Account Managers, and District Managers within the West Region to achieve top-line sales growth, EBITDA performance, and customer service excellence by bringing value through seminars, efficiency analyses, and surveys.

Education Level

• BS Degree in Business or a related field of study

Work Experience

• 10-15 years of experience working in the welding industry with experience managing a sales force proficient at selling and servicing mechanized cutting systems, robotics, and other automated welding/cutting products.
• Proven track record in sales, business planning, and achieving measurable goals.
• An established track record as a producer could supersede educational requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Develop a P&L (Sales & GP) to enable the West region to very easily measure the growth of all Advanced Fabrication Technologies along with the related consumables and gases.
• Develop local vendor partnerships aligned with the Advanced Fabrication strategy to drive the segment in the West region, conduct technical and product sales training, and war rooms, and support the sales process.
• Drive sales growth through value selling disciplined sales process and cultivating a fast-paced sales environment.
• Ensure effective collaboration, teamwork, and communication throughout the Regional Company by participating in staff meetings and war room meetings.
• Manage Advanced Fabrication assets throughout the West Region. Forecast and budget for future staff and equipment needs for the fiscal year.
• Manage the Airgas commercial offering for all shielding and laser gases.
• Manage the Weld Process Sales Specialist team to efficiently and effectively execute the Advanced Fabrication strategy and grow sales in the MetFab market segment.
• Oversee ongoing development of the expertise of the Advanced Fab team, to ensure training and development is aligned to the needs of the markets we serve.
• Responsible for ensuring a safe environment at all Airgas facilities.
• The “collective wisdom” of all specialists is very important to our success across the country. Collaboration with that team will only improve your success in the region and our success nationwide
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Able to manage and inspire others and effectively lead and influence groups.
• Extensive sales management with a proven record of driving top-line sales growth through effective leadership of sales teams and groups.
• Flexible and adaptable in the face of interrupted schedules, canceled appointments, and unfulfilled promises.
• Must be proficient with computer applications including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Must be self-motivated and results/action-oriented
• Must have a broad knowledge of the welding, cutting, and fabrication processes common to the Airgas customer base
• Must have good business acumen that will be applied in all dealings with vendors, customers, and Airgas Associates.
• Outstanding people skills. Strong in-person, written, and oral communication skills and the confidence to permit selling to high-level officers of customer companies.
• Team player with a positive attitude toward other associates, customers, and the work environment.
