Job Profile

The company is hiring a Drafter who will regularly spend time on the manufacturing floor identifying and understanding manufacturing issues.

Use this hands-on experience to create and update manufacturing drawings for assembly, welding, machining, electrical, and retrofits/rework using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Work closely with manufacturing personnel, engineers, and vendors.

Education Level

Work Experience

  • 5 years of relevant experience in place of formal educational
  • Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Advocate for safety and quality in all manufacturing documentation, ensuring products meet stringent industry standards.
  • Communicate engineering design changes and updates with all internal stakeholders.
  • Create and update manufacturing documentation including drawings and bills of material to industry and department standards.
  • Document all drawing changes in an Engineering Notice
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to improve manufacturability, reduce costs, and enhance product quality and successfully translate into drawing updates.
  • Maintain compliance with Quality Management System (QMS), Health Safety and Environmental (HSE), and industry quality standards, supporting QA/QC teams with audits and process development. Attend safety training and wear required safety equipment as appropriate.
  • Perform dimensional and tolerance calculations.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to suggest/adapt/implement changes in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Teamcenter, JD Edwards
  • Experience with ASME Y14.5 GD&T, engineering drawings, or wiring diagrams.
  • Manufacturing experience in assembly, welding, machining, or powder coating.
