The company is hiring an Electrical Controls Technician to join its team.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
- Possess 3+ years of related experience
- ISO knowledge (preferred)
- PLC experience (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Able to troubleshoot and make a diagnostic assessment on moderate to complex PLC-related issues
- Assist Maintenance Department with electrical and mechanical work as needed
- Maintains a clean work area and general housekeeping standards, such as care for assigned tools and proper disposal of hazardous waste
- May help with troubleshooting and repair of plant equipment, such as welding equipment and systems, temperature control systems, semi-automatic controlled machinery, vacuum pumps, and more
- Performs performance testing using oscilloscopes, electronic volt meters, and bridges
- Replaces faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems. Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures. Mounts motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications
- Responsible for testing of equipment including recording and analysis of results and preparing the written testing documentation
- Troubleshoots, repairs, and installs electrical and electronic parts and hardware on electronic controls and production machines, and equipment
- Understands and practice established safety and quality standard procedures
- Works with the engineering team to design new equipment or modify existing equipment
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Must work overtime and weekend hours, when there is a business need
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, design sketches, etc.
- Proven ability to identify and problem-solve complex issues
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair complex motor controls issues
- Self-starter with strong time management skills able to work independently with limited direction and supervision
Work Environment
- Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance.
- Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision.
- Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
- Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.
- The loud noise level in the work environment.
