This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Associate degree or technical degree in an electrical field (preferred)

Work Experience

• Minimum 5 years of related electrical experience (required)

License/Certification

• Shelby County (TN) Journeyman Electrician License or State of Tennessee Master Electrician License required.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of basic grounding and shielding, electricity, and electrical wiring and raceway systems.
• Maintains and repairs various types of electrical components.
• Performs work activities in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
• Plans and coordinates work following appropriate work orders, work permits, and safety instructions.
• Repairs, maintains, and installs electrical systems and equipment following all safety procedures, electrical codes, manuals, schematic drawings, diagrams, and blueprints.
• Uses test equipment, measuring, and alignment tools to perform assigned work tasks.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Able and willing to work on-site and in-person, required.
• Blueprint reading
• Circuit testing and troubleshooting
• Electrical wiring
• Installation of electrical systems
• Knowledge of electrical codes

Work Environment

• Exposure to live wires and electrical hazards
• Indoor and outdoor job sites, including residential, commercial, and industrial areas
• Often requires standing, bending, or climbing for extended periods
• Use of hand and power tools in various weather conditions
• Working at heights or in confined spaces
