Job Profile

The company is looking for an Engine Mechanic who will be involved in the assembly/disassembly of engines, components, and accessories, following technical or standard work practices.

Perform comprehensive examinations and repair of hardware for return to service and airworthiness certification.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma/GED with a minimum
  • FAA Powerplant Mechanic Certification/License or minimum of two years aircraft engine (gas turbine) maintenance experience with another company or branch of the military service.

Work Experience

  • 2 years of experience as an aircraft turbine engine mechanic

License/Certification

  • Hold 2 years of Diesel/Auto mechanic experience for a certified technical college, or hold a current automotive ASE Certification or equivalent.
  • A&P Licenses

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maintain records and perform related duties.
  • Operate balance equipment and perform functional component and accessory tests as assigned.
  • Perform any or all of the necessary functions required to provide materials, hardware, or supplies to a variety of in-shop and external operations.
  • Perform any or all of the operations necessary for the assembly/disassembly of engines, components, and accessories under technical or standard work practices.
  • Perform complete and complicated operations in the cleaning, processing, repair, rework or modification of engine hardware, tools and fixtures using hand, power or in complicate machine tools, shop aids and other standard processes to paint, coat, clean, particle blast, repair, furnace braze, resistance weld, drill, ream, grind, or similar metal working following prescribed procedures.
  • Perform comprehensive examinations of hardware for serviceability and airworthiness certification.
  • Perform functional tests and maintain process controls as assigned. Use all types of precision measuring instruments, gauges, and devices.
  • Provide routing and the movement of assemblies, hardware, tooling, and other material in support of the assigned area.
  • Report, monitor, and maintain control of the status of material as assigned.
  • Responsible for verifying material to specific process requirements, receiving, storing, disbursing, moving, packaging, and accumulating.
  • Troubleshoot in-process problems, malfunctions, or component failures within the limitations of relevant technical procedures.
  • Use all types of precision measuring instruments and devices, hand and power tools, shop equipment, and machinery as assigned.
  • Verify work performed is by technical specifications, manuals, or other quality verification criteria.
  • Maintain accurate records relative to daily transactions and perform related duties.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability and willingness to work any shift, as required
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • US Citizen
  • Must be proficient in the use of basic hand and power tools.

  • Exposure to noise, grease, and mechanical hazards
  • Hands-on work with tools and engine components
  • Physically demanding tasks, often in tight spaces
  • Strict adherence to safety and technical procedures
  • Workshops, hangars, or field repair environments
