Job Profile
The company is recruiting an Engineer Test Technician (Fabricator) who will analyze systems and perform a variety of performance and production tests on the equipment provided.
Able to weld and fabricate fixtures for testing requirements.
Record and document test results and compile information into a report.
Education Level
- Associate’s Degree in a related field (college/university)
Work Experience
- 3 years of experience in a related area
Duties/Responsibilities
- Build samples
- Design and build test fixtures
- Develop, set up, and run the tests with the equipment
- Fabricate dimensionally accurate trailer hitches
- Give recommendations on how to improve designs and solve issues
- Keep the area organized, neat, and clean
- Maintain and service the equipment
- Maintain a suitable inventory of raw materials
- Perform routine maintenance on prototype equipment
- Support hitch development when “first to market” vehicles are on hoist
- Weld steel parts in a jig fixture
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts.
- Must be able to work as a part of a team to achieve the company’s overall goals.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
- May have to lift or move items over 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
