The company is looking for an Engineering Specialist who will help to find better and more efficient ways to manufacture the vehicles.

Educational Qualification

  • The applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

  • The candidates should have 5 or more years of experience in an automotive maintenance manufacturing

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ability to rotate within a 3-shift operation
  • Apply engineering principles & analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products
  • Apply knowledge of joining technology; equipment controllers; and gun design and evaluation techniques by working side by side with skilled trades
  • Communicate with other Ford Body Shops and Global Body Engineering to implement best practices where appropriate
  • Coordinate the automation team for current and future actions
  • Demonstrate ability to execute measurement systems analysis & variable data analysis by coaching team
  • Demonstrate knowledge of X-Section (PAX-IT)
  • Demonstrate understanding of Aluminum Laser Welding by coaching team members
  • Develop and manage joining techniques, materials, and technologies
  • Efficiently identify sources of variation within a production environment effectively and efficiently
  • Ensure PM’s are completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure PM’s are correct and/or modified for the current DTP environment and schedule to prevent breakdowns based on historical data
  • Establish processes to ensure equipment is operating to current specifications
  • Execute and verify processes and procedures
  • Implement control plans and requirements within the production
  • Implement interim and permanent corrective actions to resolve quality issues using 8D tool, 6 panels, etc.
  • Implement the certification strategy around gauges
  • Independently troubleshoot all Body automation equipment and continuously evaluate equipment for quality and delivery improvements
  • Manage and direct statistical process control activities
  • Review incoming quality concerns with the goal of maintaining quality within the assigned area
  • Supervise Hourly Inspection Employees
  • Support expedited concern resolution with cross-functional teams including the Quality Department, Production and Suppliers
  • Understand schedule development for maintenance and quality personnel
  • Utilize knowledge of Weber FDS and Henrob SPR System

Preferred Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience with laser welding
  • Experience with initiating containment, determining root cause, and implementing corrective actions
  • Experience with Rockwell Allen Bradley PLC5 and Control Logix software
  • Familiarity with body automation equipment
  • Knowledge of LEAN and Six Sigma
  • Previous automotive, engineering, and quality analysis experience
  • Prior experience supervising a unionized workforce
  • Prior Production experience in a manufacturing environment

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • 1 or more years of experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
