Job Profile
The company is recruiting an Engineering Technician who will handle operational activities that support the manufacturing process by testing product samples for Quality or Research and Development while maintaining all Quality and Safety measures.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
- 3 years of shop/lab-related experience
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assisting with winding prototype fiberglass pipe for testing
- Comply with all HSE policies, guidelines, and procedures
- Comply with all NOV Company policies, guidelines, and procedures
- Comply with all Quality policies, guidelines, and procedures
- Cutting and assembling test fixtures/production equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Sample preparation, assembly, and testing
- Using lab equipment for analysis of products and prototypes
- Wear appropriate PPE in required areas
- Wiring and calibrating data logging equipment such as pressure transducers and thermocouples
- Other duties as assigned
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Attention to detail
- Bending/Stooping up to 10 hours daily

- Lifting weights up to 50 lbs. regularly

Technical Competencies
- Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties as required
- Ability to operate forklift and overhead crane safely and correctly
- Ability to understand drawings, instructions, or repair and assembly operations
- Ability to use and read calipers, micrometers, OD tape (Vernier scale)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to learn to calibrate pressure transducers, thermocouples, and lab equipment per FGS standards
- Basic knowledge of electricity. Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems and use a multimeter preferred
- Basic knowledge of shop tools/machinery. Ability to weld, use lathe, and mill (preferred)
- Mechanical aptitude-broad understanding of how parts are assembled and work together
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
