Job Profile
The company is searching for an Equipment Engineer (Castings) who will create manufacturing equipment and processes for our cutting-edge Castings and CNC Machining chassis/drive unit manufacturing facility.
Education Level
- Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus
Work Experience
- 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience with multiple new equipment installations and product startups
- Experience developing manufacturing equipment for new and unique products
- Experience transitioning equipment or fixtures from prototype to production
- Experience designing mechanical equipment, fixturing, and tooling in CAD (SolidWorks preferred, Catia is also a plus)
- Experience developing automated manufacturing equipment
- Experience programming industrial robots (FANUC, Kuka) preferred
Duties/Responsibilities
- Closely collaborate with external equipment integrators on custom automation equipment design
- Collaborate with small teams on the in-house development of novel and complex automation equipment
- Create detailed Manufacturing Instructions to document new processes
- Design manufacturing equipment and fixtures
- Design production workstations for ergonomics and efficiency
- Develop manufacturing processes, drive design for manufacturability
- Develop specifications for custom automation equipment
- Manage external equipment integrators from equipment development through buy-off
- Validate and characterize new equipment and fixtures for production implementation
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Strong mechanical fabrication and machine shop skills, operating a mill, lathe, and welder a plus.
- Controls experience including PLC programming knowledge preferred
