Job Profile
The company is looking for a Fabrication Repair Technician who will maintain high-quality maintenance of Concrete Molds through preventative maintenance, minor repair, and visual evaluation.
Education Level
- Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus
Work Experience
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in a tool room involving concrete/metal mold repair or mold maintenance.
- Experience using hand-operated tool room equipment.
- Experience with SolidWorks.
- Experience with an ERP System – IQMS
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability to fit new details and spot in.
- Able to clean molds and assist with Production problems when needed.
- Assist in maintaining maintenance records on the company computer system.
- Work on the production floor with the tool in press to correct any issues and keep downtime minimal.
- Develop and utilize Preventative Maintenance methods
- Installation of straps for wrapping and any welding repairs needed during the finishing process.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.
- Maintain all tools and equipment used, including the daily cleaning of tool room machinery.
- Maintain component spare parts inventory and order as needed
- Must be a team player willing to educate and share ideas when needed.
- Polish and bench work subcomponents and assemblies.
- Read and understand tooling drawings and follow instructions.
- Repair and upkeep of the pouring molds and vibrators.
- Troubleshoot and repair Hot Manifold systems Example: Mold Master, Husky, etc.
- Utilize measuring equipment that includes micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore micrometers, etc.
- Work to a schedule and meet deadlines on time.
- Ability to troubleshoot functional issues and repair.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to read and understand tooling drawings.
- Basic computer skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of mold and die components and their respective characteristics.
Other Requirements
- Experience with mechanical systems (e.g., gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings).
- Experience with product manuals (e.g., reading and applying knowledge to make repairs).
- Experience with reading mechanical drawings (e.g., hydraulics, pneumatics).
- Experience with troubleshooting electrical and mechanical breakdowns (pinpointing and fixing breakdowns).
- Pass technical assessment addressing job-critical maintenance knowledge areas
Physical Demands
- Sitting, standing, and walking (up to continuously); frequent use of computer and telephone requiring repetitive finger, hand, and arm movement; occasionally carrying office supplies and other miscellaneous items up to 50 pounds.
- Continuous use of seeing, hearing, and verbal communication.
Work Environment
- The work environment is not climate-controlled and is subject to outdoor weather conditions.
- Team members are exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting.
- Work indoors and outdoors; exposure to temperatures commensurate with outdoor seasonal temperatures.
