Job Profile

The company is seeking a Fabricator who will be operating the punch press, CNC plasma burn table, shears, break-press, and other similar fabrication processes.

The fabricator will be reading and understanding assembly instructions, ensuring that the required parts are present and meeting quality control standards.

Educational Qualification

• No education level is mentioned, yet having a High School Diploma will be a plus

Work Experience

• Possess at least 1-year experience in the operation of a plasma cutter/burn table (preferred)
• Experience reading blueprints
• Experience running a Punch Press, Press Brake, and Shear
• Experience with Structural Cutting, using a 24” band saw (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

Punch Press-

• Configuring equipment and calibrating gauge settings, recognizing the condition of dies, loading materials onto the equipment, feeding material through the die, and positioning and removing parts from the die. – Keeps a record of operational data and performs routine equipment maintenance.
• Dimensionally and visually inspects parts produced to ensure meet customer requirements.
• Keep work area clean at all times following 5S methods.
• Lubricates parts in accordance with work instructions.
• Monitors work schedules to ascertain production information, such as size, type, and quantity to be processed.
• Configures and operates electrically powered presses to cut, shape, and form metal, plastic, or other materials used in manufacturing operations.
• Performs operations such as blanking, bending, punching, and forming based on blueprints and other instructions.
• Performs required preventative maintenance procedures on assigned presses within specified time frames.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

CNC Plasma Burn Table-

• Needs to understand and have the capabilities to use a computer program to pull CAD programs and nest the programmed parts according to the material. Must organize and keep track of parts required and palletize the parts per order.
• Setting up, adjusting, and operating the plasma cutter to cut raw materials such as steel plates, structural, extrusions, etc. as assigned.

Shears-

• Lays out cutting lines to obtain a maximum number of pieces from stock.
• Lifts work-piece manually, by forklift or by overhead crane, positions and secure against guides and stops.
• Measures dimensions of the workpiece, using tape, gauge, template, or rule and square, for conformance to specifications.
• Perform daily preventative measures such as lubricating and cleaning machines, with daily record keeping.
• Shear and trim metal sheets and plates according to written or verbal instructions, sketches, blueprints, etc.
• Starts machine, adjusts blade gap, rake angle, and back-gauge controls, and monitors operation.
• CNC Plasma Burn table
• Needs to understand and may be required to also operate the metal band saw to cut steel for parts
• Setting up, adjusting, and operating the plasma cutter to cut raw materials such as steel plates, structural, extrusions, etc. as assigned.

Brake Press Machine Operator-

• Capable of Safely programming and setting up the CNC press brake
• Examine completed workpieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces, and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws.
• Monitor tool life and change as needed.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Very mechanically inclined and reliable
