Job Profile

The company is looking to hire a Fabricator who will interpret shop sketches, identify material listed on sketches, and fabricate pipe spools from detailed sketches.

The position will work under the direction of a foreman.

Per diem and relocation are not available for this position!

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants may be required a High School Diploma

Work Experience

  • Preferably 1 to 4 years of experience in specified skill

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Read and sign off on JSA.
  • Gather the material listed on the sketch to the fabrication table.
  • Record heat numbers from fittings to the sketch if required.
  • Lay out for inside and outside diameter nozzle attachments.
  • Prep pipe and fittings with pneumatic grinders for fit-up.
  • Use a plasma or oxy/fuel-cutting torch.
  • Clean out the inside diameter with compressed air after fit-up.
  • Math skills required to add and subtract dimensions, the figure inside/outside arc of cells, figure outside diameter rolls for spool orientation such as attachments, and flange two holes.
  • And maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times.

Qualification Standards

  • Pre-employment qualification test if applicable
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
  • Hazard Communication orientation/test
  • Turner Industries Group Indoctrination
  • OSHA-approved corrective eyewear (Z87)
  • Job site orientation
  • Job site “Personal Protective Equipment” requirements (hearing protection, safety glasses, long sleeve shirt, gloves, steel toe boots, etc.)

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Physical Requirements

  • Climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.
  • Above and below ground level, maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.
  • Reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials, and coordinating the movements of eyes, hands, and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
  • Lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, or overhead,
  • Carrying objects, tools equipment, etc.
  • Standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, crouching/squatting, crawling, seeing with or without correction, hearing with or without correction.

Work Environment

  • May be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, etc., various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc,, potential exposure to chemical substances
  • Uneven ground level, obstructed pathways, work performed at low or high elevations, work performed in confined areas

Mental Involvement

  • Following set procedures and standards.
  • Applying basic mathematical skills.
  • Planning work and select proper tools.
  • Comparing and understanding differences in the size, shape, and form of pipe spools, figures, and objects.
  • Following oral or written directions, reading, and writing, ability to recognize and report safety hazards.
