Job Profile

The company is searching for a Fabricator who will set up and operate metal fabricating machines to prepare tanks, shells, and sub-assemblies, working from detailed instructions, blueprints, sketches, and drawings.

Education Level

• High School Graduation or Equivalent

Work Experience

• 6 months in welding or machine shop operations (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Maintains high-quality standards, as required.
• Maintains records for production, time, and Statistical Process Control, as required.
• Performs other manual operations required for the fabrication of elements such as slitting, folding, gluing, taping; and using varied machines to fold, laminate, cut off, bond, form, crimp, roll, and spot weld.
• Provides instruction and assistance to other employees as required.
• Sets up and operates metal fabricating machines such as power rollers, hand brakes, and shears, including making dimensions, adjustments, and calculations, and working from detailed instructions, to cut, form, trim, shape, and otherwise prepare parts for assembly.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to accurately read a measuring tape and do basic math calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to communicate in verbal and written form to supervisor on questions specific to processes and manufacturing status.
• Ability to lift on average 50 lbs. of weight and move about 20 ft.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret general documents such as work instructions, manuals, and job packages.
• Ability to regularly grasp, pull, and push products using material handling equipment (pallet jack).
• Availability to work overtime as needed.
• Basic level knowledge of machining or welding operations; and dimensional (fractional or decimal) calculations
• Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity are required to use hand tools such as dividers, tape measures, staplers, hand shears, spot welders, rollers, hammers, and punches.
• Self-motivated and able to maintain near-perfect attendance. Highly dependable.
