Job Profile

The company is seeking a Fabricator II (welding) who will be responsible for producing high-quality fabricated parts utilizing various fabrication equipment.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED (preferred)

Work Experience

  • Possess previous manufacturing experience (preferred)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with machine operation (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Able to troubleshoot problems that arise with the work center and parts.
  • Accountable for all record-keeping as appropriate and in accordance with Stryker specifications.
  • Adhering to all Stryker Quality Systems.
  • Assures compliance with QSR/ISO procedures/policies, customer service goals, and quality standards, while meeting production goals.
  • Cleans parts as required.
  • Committed to quality by striving for reliability and quality in our products, continuously searching for ways to enhance performance, and meeting all training and documentation criteria.
  • Conducts inspections in accordance with relevant gage plans with a working knowledge of how to operate calipers and angle gages.
  • Responsible for preventative maintenance of the machining center and compliance with the 6-S schedule. Performs minor repairs on fabrication cell equipment.
  • Responsible for Robot Operator 1, CNC, and Bonding robots in addition to the responsibilities under Fabricator 1.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to operate basic fabrication equipment required.
  • Ability to operate equipment specified above in addition to Fabricator 1 equipment.
  • Ability to use height stands, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring systems, and other inspection equipment to inspect workpieces.
  • Basic skills – Ability to read and follow blueprints, basic reading, metrology and math skills, and ability to adhere to safety-related issues to include, but not limited to, good housekeeping and ergonomics practices.
  • Must have passed and will maintain the Level 1 Operator Qualifications.
  • Must have skills in team concepts and basic preventative maintenance.
  • Quality training, including visual inspection of welds (if operating a robot welder), incoming part quality, gage plan completion, and proper part loading.
  • Set-up skills to include the following prints and product specifications needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Job demands include prolonged stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, sitting, standing, or crawling as appropriate.
  • May be exposed to loud noises.
  • May be required to reach, push or pull in order to accomplish job accountabilities.
  • Meets cognitive demands to include visual discrimination/memory, auditory discrimination/memory reading ability, independent decision making, and retention of specific knowledge.
  • Requires ability to lift/carry 10-50 lbs. on a frequent basis depending on a product line, may rarely lift/carry 50-75 lbs.
  • Requires coordination of hands or eye/hand/foot.
  • Requires hand grasp ability.
  • Requires the operation of machinery as appropriate for the performance of a job.
  • Requires use of safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes, and other necessary PPE in designated areas.
