Job Profile

The company is searching for a Fabricator Welder who will support to implementation of continuous improvement ideas including design, fabrication, installation, and support.

General tasks include minor machine repair work, basic carpentry and metal fabrication work, rack assembly, cleaning of equipment, painting, and other general maintenance activities in coordination with other Manufacturing and CI support teams.

Educational Qualification

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience with Manufacturing Operations
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude including welding (ex. Mig, Tig, Stick, and aluminum), carpentry, and metal fabrication; experience using basic maintenance tools and machines (e.g. drill press, band saw, overhead crane); ability to read and interpret blueprints/schematics, cutting and grinding.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assists in minor machine repairs, upgrades, or modifications in support of production activities, and assists in larger machine work including installations, repairs, and overhauls.
  • Performs all work in compliance with Magna and Magna Engineered Glass Systems Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures as well as all Federal State, and local statutes, regulations, codes, and ordinances; promptly report any hazardous condition or workplace injury to immediate supervisor or EHS Designate.
  • Performs basic carpentry and metal fabrication work (i.e., building tables, shelves, carts, etc.); may work from detailed instructions, drawings, or sketches.
  • Performs equipment cleaning, painting, lubrication, etc. as well as general work cell cleaning.
  • Works with production teams and individuals to solicit improvements and take their ideas from concept through design, fabrication, trial, and revision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to demonstrate a clean work area and safe work environment.
  • Ability to stand for up to 6 hours per shift.
  • Ability to walk for up to 2 hours per shift.
  • Ability to work varying hours and shifts as needed to support projects.
  • Demonstrated organization, prioritizing, and time management skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills involving a high degree of judgment and comprehension.
  • Good communication and interaction skills to interact with internal contacts and work in a team environment.
  • Possess a valid Hilo license or have the ability to obtain a hi-lo license; be trained and certified to operate an overhead crane or have the ability to be so trained and certified; be able to lift 10-80 pounds utilizing a 2-man lift and crane lift to move material from delivery to stock.
