Job Profile
The company is searching for a Fabricator Welder I who will fabricate and weld any projects required from Assembly, Press, or Cradles.
Responsible for welding on all types of steels and castings.
Responsible for fabricating tools, jigs, and fixtures for the production areas.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- 2-year Associate’s Degree from an accredited technical college (preferred), or equivalent experience.
Work Experience
- Minimum 3 years in a heavy industrial environment
- Strong technical background; previous experience with welding/fabricating
Duties/Responsibilities
- Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies.
- Hand tools – grinders, drill
- Has working knowledge of preheating steel or casting, and welding rods.
- Machining- mill, lathe, grinder, drill press, brake press, ironworker, shear, saw, plasma table.
- Maintain all welding equipment.
- Must be able to design and make tools, fixtures, and fittings.
- Must be able to work from blueprints and sketches.
- Operate a forklift and overhead crane.
- Operate a variety of small machines, tools, and equipment.
- Promote good housekeeping (5S), TPM
- To flame harden and flame cut as required.
- To make all types of elements as required.
- Understand and promote Magns’s philosophies.
- Welding – Mig, Tig, and arc cutting torch.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to use hand tools and small machines
- Must have a working knowledge of basic drafting (blueprint reading, dimension drawings, etc.)
- Must have an understanding of basic engineering practices and functions
Work Environment
- Exposed to heat, noise, sparks, and heavy machinery
- Follows safety procedures and wears protective equipment
- May work indoors or outdoors, depending on the project
- Performs physically demanding tasks like lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
- Works in manufacturing shops, fabrication facilities, or construction sites
