Job Profile
The company is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for troubleshooting and performing maintenance and repairs of the office and building facilities, facility structure equipment, machines, and grounds.
Understands and can perform pump, gearboxes, and process equipment maintenance and repairs.
Performs construction and maintenance work in one or more of the following trades; welding, pipe fitting, process equipment installations, carpentry, plumbing, painting, etc.
Conducts routine, periodic or special inspections of the premise to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdown of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
Educational Qualification
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Work Experience
- 5 or more years of experience in construction, facilities maintenance, or a related field
Duties/Responsibilities
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment such as Pumps, motors, fans, compressors, conveyors, gearboxes, blowers, and other process equipment
- Perform various tasks as requested by managers and maintenance requests.
- Perform welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, piping, and structural
- Responsible for new construction and existing maintenance projects from start to finish: Project planning, parts, time management, etc.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Set up and operate all tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned work.
- Test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machines/equipment.
- Work with computer-based programs (work orders, timecards, parts requests, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience with pump, gearboxes, and process equipment maintenance or equivalent vocational schooling.
- Must have welding background experience in shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), or equivalent vocational schooling with AWS welding certifications. This experience must be on the following types of material: stainless/carbon steel, aluminum – piping, and structural metal.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- A valid driver’s license with a good driving record is verified by the DMV.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Full knowledge of shop math.
- Good analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to accurately document and report information, as well as the ability to communicate and interface effectively with all levels of personnel, including management.
- Knowledge and use of hand and power tools and measuring instruments; and the ability to climb ladders and lift at least 50 lbs.
- Must be willing to work extended hours as required.
- Must demonstrate considerable knowledge of construction/facilities maintenance principles and concepts.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to establish priorities.
- The ability to identify issues, solve and respond to routine problems.
- The ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, layouts, drawings, and specifications.
