Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Facilities Team Leader who will ensure optimal facility appearance and operation through coordinating/conducting facility preventative maintenance, repairs, and other tasks as assigned by the management team within safety standards and specifications.

Education Level

  • Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus

Work Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in a facility maintenance position, preferably in manufacturing
  • Compress air maintenance experience
  • Forklift license and experience in moving heavy equipment
  • Valid Ontario Certified Electricians Certificate 309A as an asset; Millwright certification as an asset
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role (an asset)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Abide by all AODA and C-TPAT procedures that apply to their position
  • Adhere to all IATF 16949 policies and procedures
  • Communicate and work effectively with other departments
  • Follow contractor safety program requirements (obtain documents, complete contractor orientations, etc.)
  • Lead the facilities maintenance team, including cleaners, technicians, and contractors.
  • Monitor and ensure completion of general building maintenance and repairs including structural, lighting (internal/external), roofing (leaks and damage), interior and exterior conditions of flooring, walkways, and parking lots
  • Must adhere to all MAFACT requirements
  • Must be comfortable and trained to work at heights as required
  • Must comply with all ISO 14001 (Environmental) systems and standards as it pertains to work
  • Pest management, snow removal/landscaping, and general parking lot maintenance
  • Required to complete PMs as necessary and assigned
  • Responsible for maintenance and repairs on sprinkler and fire management systems in compliance with health and safety requirements
  • Responsible for minor repairs on facility and shipping dock and door systems on time
  • Responsible for the general maintenance and appearance of the facility both internally and externally
  • Schedule, assign, and oversee day-to-day tasks to ensure smooth operation of the facilities.
  • Skilled in general facility repairs and renovations (i.e., concrete repairs, wall construction, drywall, etc.)
  • Skilled in minor plumbing repairs
  • Support and coordinate repairs on HVAC, compressors, internal heaters, and CO2 monitoring systems
  • Support contractors to ensure the timeliness of projects and compliance with company policies/procedures
  • Weld exhaust repairs when required
  • Willing and able to work overtime and flexible hours as required
  • Work with Maintenance Manager to provide training and development to team members, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Oversee related duties as directed by the Manager/Supervisor

  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to work in a fast fast-paced, energy and demanding work environment
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and maintenance systems
  • Excellent problem-solving and adaptability skills
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills, ability to adjust priorities as required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
