Job Profile
The company is recruiting a Field/Pump Diagnostic Mechanic who will safely perform diagnostic, maintenance, and repair of the pump, hydraulic, and piping systems and associated equipment.
Education Level

Work Experience
- 2 years of experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts (including welder, boilermaker, machinist, or facility maintenance/construction) or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
- Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required mechanical aptitude.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Act as a Fill-in Supervisor as required.
- May operate equipment such as trucks, bobcats, forklifts, mobile cranes, backhoes, loaders, road graders, man lifts, overhead cranes, boom trucks, and small mobile equipment.
- Participate in Safety and Environmental activities.
- Perform advanced welding and fabrication utilizing (Stick, Mig, Tig, Intershield, Drisco Fusion) on structures (stairways, guards, handrails) and pipefitting.
- Perform component diagnostic, replacement, and repairs on but not limited to compressors, fire systems, pump systems, piping systems, and hydraulic systems. May also work on pit dewatering systems.
- Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance by checking oil levels and changing oil, checking seals for leakage, and grease, maintaining compressors, and checking filters ext.
- Perform the removal, installation, rebuild, and repairs of piping and pump components such as valves, expansion joints, gearboxes, and check valves. Rot align pumps and also read blueprints.
- Responsible for maintaining work orders and performing work area inspections. Prioritize and make decisions regarding equipment repair as needed.
- Train and mentor other employees.
- Perform other duties as required.

- FPM Diagnostic Mechanic I: The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and technical skills while achieving a 35% score on a written assessment where required. This exam is based on technical skills/abilities or academic knowledge, as well as safety. Must be able to demonstrate proficient basic welding skills.
- Knowledge of the blue stake process
- Must be proficient in multiple types of welding, fabrication, and layout
- Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of experience working in a mining environment
- Basic computer skills
- Experience repairing and troubleshooting pumps, piping, and related systems
- Experience with HDPE pipe handling, repairs, and fusing
- Knowledge of Tohono O’odham Nation laws, policies, and government
- Previous experience of pulling and installing horizontal and submersible pumps and motors
Criteria/Conditions
- This is a Safety sensitive role
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, see, and work in confined spaces
- Work is performed in a mining or industrial environment which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes, or airborne particles
- Occasionally may be asked to lift moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday
- May be required to work rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing, or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.
