Job Profile

The company is hiring a Field Service Technician who will provide repair and preventive maintenance services for qualified customer equipment at Tape Industrial Sales and customer locations.

Education Level

• Not mentioned, a High School Diploma (a plus)

Work Experience

• Possess strong computer/electronics knowledge – some equipment requires electronic troubleshooting and basic programming.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Answer customer inquiries or provide training regarding repair questions
• Assemble special jobs and projects as requested
• Assist in lab clean-up and review for safety issues.
• Maintain demonstration equipment including performance test before use, document and track use by employees or customers, flush/clean/repair as needed upon return from use, test and put into storage when done.
• Participate in the establishment of contracts for repair and maintenance services.
• Participate in product demonstrations with salespeople in our lab and the field.
• Participate in product training as required
• Prepare documentation regarding work performed and enter it in the computer
• Prepare repaired/serviced customer equipment for shipping
• Rebuild used equipment for resale
• Schedule service, repair, and preventative maintenance work
• Some overnight travel required
• Troubleshoot, repair, and service customer equipment by diagnosing problems

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to learn and use Midway’s computer systems to create and maintain required records regarding equipment repair and service
• Ability to learn MIS products and product applications
• Ability to maintain required records regarding equipment repair and service.
• Ability to operate a 2-wheeler, and a pallet jack
• Ability to read parts manuals, and blueprints and find information on the internet
• Ability to understand written and oral English and be proficient with computers, email, spreadsheets, and looking up documents online.
• Ability to use/operate tools such as wrenches, drivers, and power tools.
• Ability to work effectively with customers in a service-oriented manner
• Mechanical knowledge and ability sufficient to disassemble equipment needing repair, diagnose problems, clean and refurbish/replace parts as needed, reassemble, and test.
• Mechanical knowledge sufficient to diagnose and resolve equipment problems
• Must be able to work in an environment with possible paint and solvent odors present
• Valid driver’s license with driving record acceptable to MIS insurance company.
