Job Profile
The company is seeking a Fitter/Fabricator/Welder who will weld components by the prescribed methods required or as called out on the customer’s blueprints and specifications.
Meeting quality requirements set forth by AWS D1.1 or greater.
Provide instruction for the development of welder trainees.
Educational Qualification
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
Work Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience
Duties/Responsibilities
- Check dimensions and tolerances after welding and cooling. Use the industry’s standard methods to straighten, ream, and debur as required.
- Develop skills required to set up parts that are tacked or fixtured for welding.
- Participate in ensuring a safe work environment through best practices including promoting of all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and maintenance of a 5S workstation.
- Provide technical direction and support to welder trainees.
- Review blueprints and job specifications with a supervisor. Learn to set up welder current, amperage, and gas flow to the prescribed settings for the material being welded.
- Weld components together meet AWS D1.1 standards or greater.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and welding, engineering, and material specifications.
- Must be proficient in MIG, FCAW and tack welding, and standard metal working tools.
- Must have solid math, dimensional, and reading skills, and also be able to use a tape measure.
