Job Profile

The company is hiring a Fitter Welder to join its team for manufacturing operations.

Educational Qualification

  • No education level is mentioned, yet applicants may be required a High School Diploma

Work Experience

  • Must pass welding 6G test on 2” pipe (WPS 30-112, short arc and spray). Knowledge of hand tools.

Must be able to certify in 2 or more of the following processes-

  • GMAW (short and spray) WPS-30-112 &31-112 (Carbon to Carbon) SAW (sub arc) WPS – 10-112 (Carbon to Carbon) GTAW (tig) WPS – 20-112 (Carbon to Carbon) RSW (resistance spot welding) WPS – 72-112 (Carbon to Carbon) SW (stud welding) WPS – 60-112 (Carbon to Carbon)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Finding basic errors on blueprints and making corrections.
  • Fitting and assembly.
  • Performs operations with a gouger, torch, grinder, plasma, cutting torch, threading machine, and other similar equipment.
  • Reading blueprints and layouts.
  • Weld units and components by using prescribed procedures and standard welding methods.
  • Performs housekeeping and other duties as required.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing – Exposure to noise, dirt, dust, cold/heat (indoor), and cold/heat (outdoor).
  • Job hazards of working around heavy equipment and machinery.

Tools/Equipment Used

  • MiG gun, tape measure, small hand tools, welding tools, power tools, cranes, and drills.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to maintain clean and safe work area or equipment as required.
  • Ability to read a measuring tape
  • Ability to work from detailed drawings, schematics, and specifications. Knowledgeable in the preparation of material for welding/fitting and properly rig loads.
  • Be familiar with different alloys and the ability to use a gouger.
  • Good hand dexterity is required to weld
  • Interpret welding symbols.
  • Operate positioning equipment.
  • Perform math, including fractions, at a level normally acquired through the completion of high school.
  • Possess basic knowledge of fittings, valves, and reading blueprints and layouts.
  • Set up and adjust welding machines.
  • Test welds with pressure (actual testing will be done only as authorized).
