Job Profile

The company is looking for a Fitter/Welder who will lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts of metal according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches in preparation for welding.

Tack-weld pieces together using MIG welders and perform repairs.

Education Level

  • Not mentioned, a High School Diploma (a plus)

Work Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of Mig welding experience
  • Qualified to weld steel and aluminum
  • Experience reading specifications, shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints

License/Certification

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Accurately measure within specified tolerances
  • Fit and weld sub-assemblies into the final product
  • Perform flat and horizontal fillet welds
  • Perform flat and horizontal groove welds
  • Read blueprints

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Must be able to pass a weld test as part of the interview process

Work Environment

  • Exposed to sparks, fumes, and high temperatures
  • May work indoors or outdoors, depending on the job
  • Stand for long periods and lift heavy materials
  • Wear protective gear like gloves, goggles, and helmets
  • Work in noisy, hot, or confined environments
