Duties/Responsibilities

  • Make visual inspections, separate parts, record production, record scrap, keep required production records, and other operations as required.
  • Read and interpret drawings, routing sheets, and process procedures. Must have the ability to satisfactorily use calipers, gages, measuring devices, etc.
  • Required to furnish own hand tools.
  • Required to maintain machines, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Required to set up, operate, and adjust machines and equipment to produce a good quality product. Examples of machines and equipment are, but not limited to, upsetter, forging hammer, furnace, trim press, robotic controls, forklift, overhead hoist, and other departmental equipment.
  • Processes performed will be, but not limited to, inspecting, gauging, counting, heating, upsetting, forging, trimming, stamping, sorting, and stacking.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to handle 15 lbs. continuously for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist and waist to floor.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs. and carry at waist level a distance of 10 feet.
  • Ability to sit or stand and perform repetitive work for a minimum of eight hours.
  • Ability to swing a sledgehammer.
  • Ability to walk, hear, see, read, and have full use of both hands.
  • Ability to work in a high-temperature environment.
