Job Profile

The company is seeking a Foundry Metallurgist to join its team.

Educational Qualification

  • The applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science, or other related fields from a college or university.

Work Experience

  • The candidates should have 3 to 5 years of experience in a technical role; foundry (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Casting defect analysis and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with 3rd party testing vendor to ensure certification completion
  • Continually improve foundry practices
  • Design daily melt schedule and heats to meet customer specifications and cost targets
  • Develop and train the melt department to meet current and future demands
  • Document and develop best practices and SOPs
  • Drive efficiency, quality, as it relates to melting techniques
  • Proactively interpret Customer casting requirements and translate them into proper manufacturing processes and controls.
  • Process and material failure analysis and troubleshooting
  • Scrap and rework reduction
  • Support other engineering and manufacturing functions as necessary
  • upgrade technology to meet current and future customer specifications as well as internal needs
  • Work with and specify metallurgical chemistry, heat treatment processes, and weld

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability and willingness to work with all levels of the Company
  • Ability to collect and process data accurately
  • Ability to contribute to manufacturing strategy
  • Ability to read and produce technical reports and diagrams of manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
  • Broad knowledge of varied alloy groups, High Nickel Alloys preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have working rights in Singapore
  • Knowledge of welding processes and qualifications
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills and strong problem-solving skills
