Job Profile
The company is searching for a Group Leader who will provide the coordination, work assignment, monitoring, and support of assigned employees and assigned area(s).
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a High School Education or Equivalent
- AWS D1.1 and D1.3 certification for welding of all positions on carbon steel (required)
- SME Section 1X certification for tack welding all positions on stainless steel
Work Experience
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in safely handling structural steel, utilizing cranes, forklifts, lifting fixtures, and slings.
- MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding is our primary process being used
- Welding of carbon or stainless steel.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assists and trains employees in new job assignments.
- Assists in preparing mock-ups and prototyping first production vehicles.
- Assists other employees in resolving problems that might arise within the station.
- Assists the ATM in conducting regular safety meetings.
- Assists the supervisor in conducting regular safety meetings.
- Coordinates work schedules with Assembly Team Manager (ATM) and maintain work status.
- Coordinates work schedules with other Group Leaders or Supervisors and maintain work status.
- Ensures employees are fully trained or supervised while training and using proper documentation and all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when working.
- Ensures that all necessary materials needed in the area(s) of responsibility are provided/replenished.
- Keeps supervision informed of work plans, status, and employee performance.
- Maintains a good understanding of Manufacturing Resources Planning (MRP) and other systems that support production activities.
- Monitors employees’ safety, quality, methods, and output.
- Performs quality checks on work being performed.
- Prepares or reviews employee time sheets and other labor input documents.
- Provides work assignments and work instructions to employees throughout each workday.
- Performs information inquiries or transactions using computer terminals to support other duties and responsibilities.
- Works from detailed engineering drawings to fit-up piece parts in fixturing assembly components consisting of steel channels, brackets, angles, sheathing, assemblies, and subassemblies.
- Tack welds all parts together in equipment.
- Welds all assemblies according to AWS D1.1 and 1.3. Meets production schedule with minimum supervision.
Work Environment
- Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- Frequently occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions.
- Occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
