Job Profile

The company is searching for a Heavy Duty Mechanic who will be responsible for required maintenance, repair, installation, and inspection of all mobile and mechanical equipment throughout the High Level oriented-strand board (OSB) mill.

Education Level

  • Certified Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic (fourth-year apprentices will be considered)

Work Experience

  • Experience in managing work schedules and organizing/prioritizing equipment repair (an asset)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Complete mechanical repairs and maintenance of equipment.
  • Complete safety and mechanical inspections of equipment.
  • Maintain all tools and supplies.
  • Order and receive parts for repair purposes.
  • Oversee the conduct and on-the-job training of future apprentice mechanics.
  • Read and understand blueprints for process improvement installations (press, pumps, electric motors, structural, etc.).
  • Maintain all mill equipment and machinery and vehicles in our fleet including medium and heavy equipment (loaders, skid steers, man lifts, picker trucks).

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Able to carry out light fabrication and welding jobs
  • The successful candidate will be required to provide a pre-employment screening.
