Job Profile

The company is hiring a Heavy-Duty Repairperson to join its team.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Formal Technical Training (preferred)

Work Experience

  • Possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a mechanic/repair person in an aggregate quarry or in a related industry
  • Experienced in parts organizing and ordering
  • Experienced in Preventative Maintenance Programs

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Complete maintenance projects in a timely manner to ensure production goals.
  • Ensure that all equipment repairs are performed accurately to the manufacturer’s standards.
  • Inspect equipment for proper functional use and perform preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and perform repair and maintenance of all plant equipment, using a variety of hand tools, power tools, shop machines, hoists, etc.
  • Install and replace bearings, speed reducers, shafts, pulleys, idlers, motors, couplings, etc.
  • Maintain proper tool/parts inventory for specified jobs.
  • Maintain up-to-date written or data input spreadsheets on all equipment repairs.
  • Make major repairs to crushers, changing jaw dies, bearings, bushings, crusher bowls/mantles, etc.
  • Perform repair and maintenance involving disassembly, overhaul, assembly, and adjustments of crushing and screening of mobile equipment components.
  • Performs other miscellaneous mechanical and maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Repair conveyor belts, feeders, and hydraulic systems.
  • Responsible for following all health and safety guidelines and reporting any issues to the supervisor.
  • Upgrade areas with new equipment/technology
  • Work with outside contractors on special projects as required.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley or PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical moving parts (chains, bearings, and rollers).
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be computer proficient
  • Must be proficient at both Arc and Mig welding
  • Strong electrical background (a plus)
  • Will operate heavy equipment (loader) when needed.
