Job Profile
The company is looking for an HVAC Project Mechanic Journeyman (Union) who will be responsible for the layout, assembly, installation, and repair of HVAC systems and hydronic Systems.
Installs these systems according to specifications and appropriate trade and building codes. These systems may consist of pipes, fittings, piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for heating, cooling, gas, steam, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial processing systems.
Must be able to cut, lay out, weld, and assemble pipe and structural assemblies.
Must be able to install quality work and have a working knowledge of piping systems.
Maintains the work area in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
Maintains required tools, and properly uses all Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and safety equipment.
Perform a variety of manual tasks in varying temperatures for extended periods, which may include lifting light to heavy materials, climbing, standing, squatting, bending, and working at heights when applicable.
Educational Level
- High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
- At least 2 years of previous related experience as a Pipefitter
Duties/Responsibilities
- Bevel and thread pipe
- Cut, assemble, weld, install, and lay out pipe
- Install pipe supports
- Install valves and instruments
- Material Handling
- Must be able to work with Carbon steel, Stainless steel, Copper, PVC, Polypropylene
- Operate lifts and other equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of industry experience with piping layout, Hydronic calculations, and installation of Hydronic Systems
- Welding Certifications WPS 1-12-2 SMAW using E6010 followed by E7018 with PWHT
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Available for Local Travel
- Good written/verbal communication skills are necessary.
- Must be familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Trained and qualified to operate machinery such as scissor lifts, aerial lifts, forklifts, etc.
