Job Profile
The company is recruiting an HVAC Technician who will install, maintain, and repair heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, support site capital projects, and perform other general facilities maintenance tasks.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or equivalent, or GED
Work Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial/industrial HVAC repair and maintenance
Duties/Responsibilities
Live the Safety stand, adhere to the safety responsibilities-
- Implement a personal safety action plan and review with the leader
- Work safely at all times, utilizing the proper personal protective equipment
Install and perform preventative and repair maintenance on HVAC systems-
- Access the Work Request System and complete HVAC and other maintenance work requests as directed
- Conducts preventative and repair maintenance on various sizes and brands of HVAC units
- Coordinates with internal and external resources to ensure safe and cost-effective installation of the right HVAC system based on the application.
- Follow up with internal customers on open work request status
- Inspects HVAC systems and their components (e.g., heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) to evaluate condition, identifying necessary repairs, and recommending preventive maintenance
- Monitor HVAC units using Direct Digital Control systems.
- Responds to emergencies during or after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns.
- Safely operate site vehicles
Perform other general facilities maintenance tasks-
- Perform various other facilities maintenance and site operations tasks in support of ongoing site projects
- Be an engaged member of the Site Operations Team, including attending team meetings and assisting other technicians as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Demonstrated heating, ventilation experience
- Effective Communication- should be able to follow up with relevant stakeholders to ensure positive outcomes
- Learn to problem-solve in ambiguous situations
- Preventative maintenance – maintaining logs and execution
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of Building Automation Control systems.
- EPA universal refrigeration certification
- Experience with the maintenance of electrical systems is a plus.
- Must be willing to take additional training as needed to fulfill job requirements.
- Plumbing and pipefitting skills
Work Environment
- Frequently travels to residential and commercial sites
- May work evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts
- May work in cramped, hot, or cold spaces
- Often required to lift heavy equipment and tools
- Works indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
