Job Profile
The company is seeking an Industrial Electrician who will support the operations department to ensure timely and accurate preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a valid Provincial Journeyman’s Electrician License (442a)
Work Experience
- Possess experience working in the automotive industry, with a high level of robotics and automation.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Actively participates in training and continuous improvement activities that promote the efficient and cost-effective utilization of plant resources
- At all times, wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the tasks being performed
- Collect and report monitoring data in support of the EHS management system
- Completes assigned paperwork as may be required, for example, scrap; production counts; downtime; quality; labor reporting; preventative maintenance; work order forms, etc.
- Complies with requirements and assists in the maintenance of the necessary quality standards (QS9000/ISO/TS16949/ISO14001) to ensure re-certification as may be appropriate for the tasks assigned
- Efficiently performs all assigned duties to ensure work meets or exceeds the quality standards of our customers both internally and externally
- Ensure daily electrical work is recorded in an electrical logbook
- Ensures full compliance with all OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) requirements, the Electrical Code, plant safety rules, work rules, and procedures as may apply to duties performed
- Maintains valid licensing to operate forklifts and other lifting devices as required
- Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics.
- Participate and promote EHS activities
- Participate on EHS teams and committees
- Participates in 5S activities by initiating and maintaining a clean and orderly work area, as necessary
- Report opportunities for improvement and any EHS issues
- Stop work activities that create EHS hazards
- Strive towards meeting company EHS goals
- Understand and follow all EHS policies
- Understands and follows the Standard Work/Process/Operating Instructions as posted at work station prior to undertaking tasks
- Utilizes methods of transportation provided by the company to move tools and equipment, while efficiently and effectively responding to service calls
- Will be expected to diagnose and repair. Robots, Transfer systems, welding equipment, and complex production machinery.
- Work at height on 600-volt bus bar systems.
- Work on general plant requirements. Office upgrades, outside lighting, etc.
- Other duties may be assigned.
