Job Profile
The company (McConway & Torley) is hiring an Industrial Electrician to join its team.
Education Level
- Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus
Work Experience
- 1 or more years of related electrical experience
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Follows all safety rules and practices.
- Installs electrical panels, relays, and switches
- Lays out, builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and modifies equipment or finished product electronic components, parts, switch panels, electronic equipment, and systems.
- May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
- May input or perform PLC or CNC programming.
- May test new equipment, troubleshoot operations, and make minor adjustments to equipment.
- Performs advanced repairs, troubleshoots electrical problems, performs preventative maintenance and testing on electrical wiring and components of production equipment and facilities infrastructure
- Performs high voltage electrical repairs (e.g., controls, relays). Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
- Reads and troubleshoots basic PLC programming
- Troubleshoots and repairs electronic, mechanical, or electrical computer-controlled equipment.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Fully capable of troubleshooting and testing all electrical applications
- Understands principles of electricity/electrical control and understands general electrical schematics
- Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
Working Conditions
- Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, and loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant
- This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
- The work environment includes a plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas, and plant grounds.
