Job Profile

The company (ThyssenKrupp Crankshaft Co) is seeking an Industrial Electronics Technician who will send e-tech reports to the Electronic Services Group Leader.

Responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing plant equipment with electronic components and programming.

Education Level

Work Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience troubleshooting electronic controls in a manufacturing setting

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and repairing plant equipment
  • PLC programming

Specific Roles-

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plant equipment involving checking voltages, changing out bad components, switching out gauges, as well as making camera and software adjustments
  • Program PLCs and diagnose machine faults/failures related to CNC, Servo, AC Motion Controls, and related electronic components
  • Research and recommend machine control upgrades to address outdated controls
  • Document changes to electrical drawings and generate upgraded drawings
  • Prepare daily log reports and document/track the off-shift activity to ensure proper follow-up on machine problems and repairs

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to follow step-by-step procedures
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic algebraic mathematical ability
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral and written language ability
  • Knowledge of electronics
  • Knowledgeable in a variety of machine software
  • Understanding of schematics and program reading
  • Understanding of standard to metric conversions
  • Willingness to learn

Working Conditions

  • Environmental conditions may include extreme heat, noise, vibration, and atmospheric conditions.
  • Hazards may include proximity to moving, mechanical parts, exposure to electrical components, and occasional working in high, exposed places.
  • May require reaching, handling, using fingers, frequent climbing, balancing, feeling, repetitive motions, standing, walking, and occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and hearing/smelling to perceive sounds or scents that may indicate a malfunction.
  • May require the use of near acuity, peripheral vision, accommodation, and color vision.
  • May require Light Physical Strength
