The company is hiring an Industrial Mechanical Technician to join its team.

Educational Level

  • High School Degree or an approved GED

Work Experience

  • 0-2 years of mechanical experience or 1-2 years of education in industrial maintenance technologies (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely administrative duties to include, but not limited to, time accounting and work order completion.
  • Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals to include employee development planning.
  • Assigned tasks list to include, but not limited to repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, conveying systems, piping, heat exchangers, power transmissions, and other power-driven rotating equipment. Repairs and preventive maintenance are to be performed in conformance with established standards. Expectations of task completion range from task completion with direct supervision to task completion without supervision, reliant upon assigned tasks and employee development.
  • Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards/work procedures while performing those duties and provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery.
  • Communication with all team members to assist the development of short- and long-range planning in assist of the company’s goals and objectives
  • Ensures compliance with all company/customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain personal tools required for your job to include an up-to-date documented personal tool list. Required tool listing to be supplied as part of employment.
  • May require constant supervision and follow-up.
  • Meet the physical requirements of the job. Physical requirements of the job will be provided to you before employment.
  • Must be able to operate and have knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, basket trucks, and skid loaders.
  • Must be able to use hand tools daily such as power tools (hand grinders, saws, impact wrenches, drill press, and hydraulic pullers), and rigging equipment. Also perform welding, using a cutting torch as required.
  • Must have the flexibility to work all shifts including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the following topics: using hand/power tools, precision alignment, rigging, pipefitting, welding, blueprint reading, mathematics, and Preventive/Predictive Maintenance.
  • Must maintain positive customer and employee relations.
  • Able to work in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment. “Safety First” expectations include but are not limited to, the PJHA process, Observation process, and compliance with all company/site safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Works from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, scaffolding, etc. utilizing fall protection equipment as necessary to complete tasks
  • Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Perform any other duties that are assigned by the responsible supervisor.

  • Manual Dexterity – The ability to quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, or step stools
  • Ability to move for extended or continuous periods
  • Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner
  • Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties
  • Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required
  • The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

Work Environment

  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • Occasionally exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold, wet, or humid conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
