Job Profile
The company is hiring an Inspection Coordinator who will be responsible for supporting the source inspection team and facilitating the inspection process, including issue resolution of inspection findings, in support of domestic and overseas projects.
Work closely with specifying engineers, project team, and procurement center to monitor and continuously improve supplier performance to drive toward no defects on delivered material
Be familiar with the inspection work process and making use of the work process during the steps of inspection work, familiar with the requirements, local and international standards/codes stipulated in AP Spec and applying the requirements in daily inspection work correctly
Provide concerning feedback to the project on time and cooperating with the project, function, and expediting team/sourcing team to deal with quality issues the first time
Lead inspection report in time after each inspection trip, reporting NCR issues and punch items found during the inspection visit, tracking, and recording vendor’s correction for issue resolution
Raise the quality issues and summarize lessons learned from previous projects during daily inspection work and pre-inspection meetings for vendor performance improvement
Supporting project execution activities. Share experiences/standard processes with team members
Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a college/university
- Certifications in Welding Inspections, NDE (LP, MP, UT, RT) desirable
Work Experience
- 8+ years of working experience as a quality engineer/inspector
Duties/Responsibilities
- Closely work with project, and function team and timely communicate with or report to the project or function engineers and supervisor once key quality issues are found during the inspection activities
- Continuously push the local vendor to understand/meet our requirements based on effective communication with the function team
- Coordination of inspection arrangement between inspection and supplier for hold/witness points specified in ITP. Check with the supplier on realistic production status and preparation work prior to inspection activity, to avoid ineffective inspection labor hours happen
- Input ITP/QCP items into the system timely to finish the preparation before any inspection activity
- Participate in global quality communication and learn/share effective experience
- Provide effective inspection service including timely reporting and support to each domestic and overseas project
- Report NCR issues, and track NCR, Punch list timely
- Understand inspection requirements defined in Air Products Specifications
- Understanding of the Source Inspection work processes
Nature/Scope
- Responsible for ensuring the 3rd party inspectors undertake the quality control on the ordered pressure equipment at the vendor’s workshop during product manufacturing to ensure consistent quality, following all code, standard, and AP specification requirements.
- Responsible for running the 3rd party inspectors of material certificates review and track, welding and dimension inspection, cleanliness inspection, and witness testing, performing final inspection of pressure equipment as defined and specified as the inspection point outlined in the ITP
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with external suppliers
- Ability to make difficult decisions within the defined work scope
- Ability to work multi-functionally within Air Products
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Good knowledge of mechanical drawings, metal material performance, and welding processes and welding procedures
- Good organization and written presentation skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to write concise reports and minutes of meetings
- Hands-on and able to work under pressure

- Skills to use inspection facilities and instruments
- Solid understanding of Smart Plant Materials (SPMAT), SAP, and MS tools
