The company is searching for an Inspector Test/Evaluation B who will observe and verify functional tests of developmental test parts/assemblies, flight control test systems, and fatigue tests of aircraft assemblies.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have a High School Graduate or GED (preferred)

Work Experience

• Possess 3+ years of experience as a Quality Inspector

Duties/Responsibilities

• Conduct at various sites per engineering documents, workbooks, drawings, and test documents, as required.
• Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous materials in an approved manner.
• Identify and document non-conformance items, as required.
• Indicate QA acceptance on the appropriate paperwork or online and process as required per the quality procedures.
• Inspect and verify all systems are ready for tests.
• Inspect electrical bundles ensuring part numbers are at proper locations and are completed per drawings and BAC specifications, as required.
• Inspect tooling and test fixtures necessary to perform tests.
• Inspect, verify, or witness material, parts, tooling, and test structures for proper design, configuration, installation, and certifications for test functions.
• Inspect/verify or witness models, supplier products, tools, and test apparatus to ensure design, configuration, and instrumentation were installed and certified correctly per engineering documents, drawings, and test documents, as required.
• Interface with other organizations to provide clarification or additional information.
• Maintain personal and tool certifications, as required.
• Obtain appropriate drawings, specification documents, or sketches, using computing systems to retrieve information, as required if drawings, sketches, or documents are not with work order.
• Operate a 3-D measurement system to establish positions for installation of hardware on test stands, tooling, and developmental/production assemblies, as required.
• Operate precision measuring instruments, touch and non-touch to inspect/verify close tolerance developmental, model, flight test, and production parts, per engineer workbook, drawings, sketches, and BAC specifications, as required.
• Perform Federal Aviation and Administration (FAA) conformity inspections.
• Perform in-process inspections as required. Document the required information.
• Perform in-process, dimensional, fatigue, and load test inspections on wind tunnel models, sheet metal, machined parts, details, assemblies, and full-scale airplanes for conformance with applicable drawings, specifications, documents, quality standards, and procedures.
• Perform visual/dimensional weld inspection, as required.
• Prepare the package for FAA acceptance and accept when complete.
• Process non-conforming parts/assemblies per Material Review Board disposition on non-conformance records consistent with the Quality Operating procedures.
• Process parts for lab, if required by plan and engineering.
• Receive/obtain developmental/test, production parts, and assemblies with appropriate work authorization per required procedures.
• Record results and process non-conformance items, per Quality Assurance (QA) procedures.
• Route parts/assemblies with appropriate information to the Material Review Segregation Areas [MRSA] and to other areas as required.
• Testing is required at remote sites.
• Verify material being issued to the job for developmental/test use (e.g., quantity, temper, thickness) is per work order, vendor documents, drawing, and BAC specifications, as required.
• Verify the part number and serial number, and that the quantity matches the work authorization.
• Witness or verify operational/functional tests of systems and components, per engineering requirements and test procedures, as required.
• Work with others as part of a team including giving and receiving feedback, assisting others in the completion of tasks, provide on-the-job training to others.

Preferred Qualifications

• Sealing experience (preferred)
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to walk constantly throughout the workday; stand 6-8 hours per day; climb or work from stairs/steps up to 8 hours per day; climb ladders; bend and twist frequently up to six hours per day; squat and kneel
• Ability to complete Fall Protection Training
