The company is searching for an Insulator to join its team for various needs.

Educational Qualification

  • The applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

  • The candidates must have 3+ years of experience as an insulator or pipe coverer in an industrial manufacturing facility
    -NCCER, NIA, etc. training is a plus
    -Scaffold experience is a plus

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Apply, remove, and repair insulation on industrial equipment, pipes, ductwork, or other mechanical systems such as heat exchangers, tanks, and vessels, to help control noise and maintain temperatures.
  • Cover insulation with appropriate jacketing to include fabrication of oversizes, reducer, T’s, etc.
  • Cover, seal or finish insulated surfaces or access holes with plastic covers, canvas strips, sealants, tape, cement, or asphalt mastic.
  • May be required to get certification in the operation of overhead cranes, forklifts, and man lifts.
  • Measure and cut all types of insulation to fit pipes, 45’s and 90’s, vessels, ductwork, pumps boxes, etc.
  • Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces, using tape measures, handsaws, knives, and scissors
  • Read job packages and other specifications to determine job requirements
  • Remove old insulation and dispose of it properly
  • Supports company’s planning and scheduling model during routine and shutdown execution
  • The candidate may be required to work from heights and confined spaces
  • Works in a multi-craft atmosphere with scaffold builders

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Great attendance and ability to work independently without daily supervision
  • Knowledge of industry safety practices and willingness to participate in advancing safety culture
  • Must accurately interpret and apply information from job orders, work orders, blueprints, sketch drawings, and other blueprint documents
  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and move your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Must be able to work overtime, including nights and weekends, when needed in order to meet production deadlines
  • Must be able to work productively and efficiently in adverse conditions
  • Must be willing to work in a multi-craft environment
  • Will be required to pass practical tests
