Job Profile
The company is looking for a Journeyman CNC Machinist who will perform operations involved in setting up and operating a CNC, DNC multi-axis machine(s).
Education Level
- Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus
Work Experience
- Knowledge of N/C controlled machines and shop practices equivalent to 1 to 2 years of trades training.
- Requires proof of a Journeyman’s Certification
- Experience with set-up and operation of CNC machines, preferably with Horizontal Boring Mills, SNK, and Mori Seiki (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Fills out PM checklists and may assist in the PM of the machine.
- Maintain tooling and backup tooling (where necessary).
- Monitor control messages and take appropriate corrective action.
- Perform fixture change-overs, loading and unloading of production parts, online piece parts inspection, and manual data input to ensure specified finishes, and tolerances.
- Perform utility functions to maintain the process.
- Use precision measuring instruments, gauges, hand tools, tool setting equipment, and appropriate material handling equipment.
- Use tool preset machines, precision measuring instruments, hand, and hand power tools, deburr tools, and appropriate material handling equipment.
- Will perform housekeeping and deburr internal to machining operations.
- Work from drawings, process sheets, specifications, tape programs, instructions, or visual display units.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to read shop prints, mathematics, handbook formulas, precision measuring instruments, process sheets, and program tapes.
- Ability to set up and operate any type of tape-controlled milling and frilling machines for all specified machining operations. The judgment required to plan, perform, and make general decisions within prescribed quality, tolerance, and limitations.
- Ability to perform moderate physical effort working continuously with lightweight or frequently with average-weight materials
