Job Profile

The company is looking for a Journeyman Electrician who will be responsible for skilled and technical work involving installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical equipment. This includes working with high—and low-voltage systems, installing power distribution equipment such as switchgear, conduits, and cables, and adhering to the National Electrical Code.

Involves troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems for plant and production equipment, including cranes, lathes, drills, and robots.

Handles lighting repairs, and small fixture maintenance, and performs preventative tasks, checking for faulty wiring and unsafe conditions.

Additionally, address mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues related to electrical problems and operate lifting equipment safely.

Education Level

  • Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus

Work Experience

  • Prior electrical experience in an industrial facility

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electrically operated equipment in an industrial environment.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair 3-phase (480v & lower) motor circuits and control circuits following the National Electrical Code
  • Installation and repair of lighting systems, HVAC, MIG welding systems, plasma-cutting units, hoists, cranes, and other production equipment.
  • Must be able to work overtime or on different shifts as required. May be called at irregular hours to assist with emergencies at the plant.
  • Must be capable of driving a forklift and operating a man lift.
  • Pull permits for new installations
  • Understand electrical schematics and terminology

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Able to stand, walk, etc. for up to 95% of the assigned shift and work inside and outside throughout the year.
  • Capable of climbing ladders and working at heights up to 45ft in the air, bending, crawling, walking, kneeling, sitting, stretching, working in awkward positions, and confined spaces.
  • Capable of distinguishing colors.
  • Capable of pushing, pulling, and lifting 50 pounds.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC circuits.
  • Must have a valid Nebraska journeyman’s or higher-level license.
  • Must have and keep an acceptable attendance record.

Credible Qualifications

  • Required to assist with other maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Maintains a clean, neat working area and machine tools.
  • Must effectively communicate, verbally and written, to all. Will partner with Engineering for projects.
  • Participate in Gemba walks, 5S/LEAN, and safety meetings
  • Understand and comply with company procedures, policies, and work instructions.
