Job Profile

The company is searching for a Journeyman Millwright to join its team.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Be a minimum of 18 years old
  • BC/Interprovincial Trade Certification (required)

Work Experience

  • Possess work-related experience (a plus)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ability to put into Practice, corrective actions to effectively address reliability issues related to the above area
  • Ability to take direction from supervisors and coworkers
  • Actively finding new and improved ways of completing tasks
  • Assist Operating Engineers in the maintenance of plant utilities
  • Ensure smooth, efficient communication with the next team at shift changes
  • Identify and correct any problems found in machines, equipment, or processes to facilitate production
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of shift logs, maintenance inspections, and meter readings
  • Maintain, repair, and overhaul plant production equipment, building, and grounds
  • Participate collaboratively in process improvement teams as required
  • Perform Weekly Preventive Maintenance Walkthroughs/Inspections and Repairs on production equipment as necessary
  • A person should be willing to get trained in the following areas, airborne ultrasound, thermography
  • Provide quick response to trouble calls by shift supervisors and or operators/technicians
  • Support projects include working on a project team in the design, installation, and commissioning
  • Any other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to operate machinery
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • At least 2 years of experience in production-related work
  • Basic computer skills
  • Forklift experience.
  • Previous experience with MRO (Maintenance Repair Ops) or MRP (Material Requirement Planning)

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English/verbal/written)
  • Ability to work overtime, holidays, nights, weekends, or different shifts.
  • Must be able to perform maintenance trades including welding, rigging systems, gearbox and bearing maintenance, lubrication, pumps and piping systems, mechanical maintenance, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, opening/closing valves, shoveling, and pounding with a hammer.
  • Must be able to work under special work conditions such as extreme heat or cold
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
  • Work in confined spaces
