The company is hiring a JSC Construction Plumber II who will perform assigned plumbing duties as a PAE, an Amentum company, employee onsite at the NASA Johnson Space Center worksite.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
• Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.
• Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
• Plumbing as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Able to weld/solder, as needed.
• Clean, neat, and professional personal appearance.
• Cut cast iron and properly install MJ (mechanical joint).
• Figure travel between two parallel running pipes using 45° ells / 90° ells.
• Flare 3/8” copper tubing/bend 90° ell.
• Identification of (all) pipe/fittings.
• Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment background check and drug screen test.
• Must pass Asbestos physical and be able to wear a respirator as needed.
• Size piping of fixtures/fixture units (sanitary sewage/potable water/natural gas/nitrogen/storm sewage/compressed air/vacuum)
• Sweat, braze, solvent socket weld piping to code.
• This position is located onsite at NASA JSC and requires US Citizenship.
• Thread standard 1” NPT to code.
• Using Oxy-Gas torch.
• Ensure quality and completeness of work in a safe and timely manner, as well as, ensuring areas worked are clean, neat, and ready for Customers’ needs when complete.

Other Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen to obtain the required NASA badge.
• Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on the date of hire (candidates will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on the date of hire).
• Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.
• Must have, and maintain, a valid Texas driver’s license.
• Must have and maintain a current Texas Plumbers License

Preferences

• Prior knowledge of the NASA site and experience with working on government installations are preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. consistently.
• Dexterity to operate office and field equipment as required by the position.
• In good physical shape/condition for climbing in and out of tight restricted working areas, as applicable.
